Artemis Fowl wanted to cure his mother of her fairy-disease. But in order to terminate this disease, he needs the brain juice of a silky sifaka lemur that became extinct because of him. So Artemis travels back in time to kidnap the lemur. Then, he finds how mean and selfish his younger-self was.
I both loved and slightly didn't like this book. Out of all the books in the series, this must be the most confusing. In this book, Artemis must out-smart his younger-self from the past. Where the dialog is, I had to reread a page so I would understand who had said what. Only sometimes the label of "Young Artemis" and "Older Artemis" was used. Other than that, I liked how the conflict revolved back onto Artemis. It was his fault in the past for the extinction of that lemur,
