Then, in rotations, small groups met to discuss the first part of "Flowers for Algernon." As part of this check in, students shared the active reading notes they had made in part 1 (both with their partner in class and then independently at home on Tuesday night). Each student was given feedback on the quality of their active reading notes ... HINT, HINT, WINK, WINK.
Other rotations included grammar practice as review for Monday's test and then continuing to read FFA with a partner.
At the end of class we did a Q&A on the grammar practice to give an opportunity to ask about any of the review questions that may have stumped them during class.
