LIT: We learned about themes and what a theme is. We learned how to make a theme statement. We worked on characterization with independent reading books. We read chapters 10 and 11 of The Breadwinner. And, we had chapters 6 - 10 checked for active reading.
VOC: We finished our Word Voyage and we combined our vocab with writing techniques for vocabulary sentences. We liked this way a LOT better than the Word Voyage way.
WRITING: We revised and typed our paragraph on “How to Prepare for a Test or Quiz.” We pointed out exact nouns, appositives and vivid verbs.
